Chief Minister Krishak Accident Welfare Scheme : Uttar Pradesh Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said on Tuesday that giving benefits under Mukhyamantri Krishak Accident Welfare Scheme will not be valid in murder cases. During the Question Hour on Tuesday, the second day of the Monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly, Khanna gave this information on behalf of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in reply to a question by Samajwadi Party (SP) member Rakesh Pratap Singh.

Singh said that the poor farmer returns home after selling his crop and on the way the robbers shoot and kill him and loot his money but no grant is received from the government. He questioned why the government is not giving a grant to the farmer or laborer in such a situation. Before this, he also sought details of the amount given to the affected farmer families under the Chief Minister’s Farmer Accident.

Khanna said that under the scheme, in case of accidental death or disability of the farmer, a maximum amount of five lakh rupees will be payable, which will be borne by the state government. He said that in case of death due to accident, an amount of Rs.5 lakh would be given.

He said that in the condition of disability, if there is complete disability, loss of both hands or both legs or both eyes, loss of one hand and one leg is considered 100% disabled. He also gave details of the amount to be received from the State Disaster Response Fund.

Khanna said that in cases of murder, giving benefit under the Chief Minister’s Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme will not be valid. He said that in special circumstances, funds are given from the discretionary fund of the Chief Minister.
