Jammu Kashmir National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah Differs With PDP Mehbooba Mufti On Bhajans In Schools | Farooq Abdullah said

Farooq Abdullah on Bhajans: Politics has heated up in the schools of Jammu and Kashmir in the controversy over Mahatma Gandhi’s favorite bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’. Meanwhile, the National Conference has taken a U-turn with the statement of PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti regarding Bhajan. National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has disagreed with Mehbooba Mufti’s statement. National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah’s stand seems to be different from Mehbooba’s.

The National Conference president has wronged the communal color given by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti to the hymn ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ being sung in schools. Farooq Abdullah has said that he also sings bhajans, what is wrong in that?

National Conference’s U-turn!

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah disagreed with Mehbooba Mufti’s statement and further said that if Hindus go to Ajmer Sharif Dargah, do they become Muslims? Similarly, if Muslims go to Mata Vaishno Devi, will they become Hindus?

Mufti attacked BJP over Bhajan

Actually, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti had raised questions about Bhajan by sharing a video on 19 September. In this video some children were seen singing the hymn ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ in a school. The PDP president had targeted the Modi government at the Center for this. Mehbooba Mufti had said that the real Hindutva agenda of the central government in Kashmir has been exposed by imprisoning religious leaders, shutting down Jama Masjid and instructing school children to sing Hindu hymns.

What did the National Conference say earlier?

Let us tell you that before the statement of National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, this party had politicized the issue. Sharing a video of students singing bhajans, National Conference spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar had said that somewhere in South Kashmir, these children are being pressured to sing bhajans. Have our educational institutions been turned into a political tool?

Will BJP benefit?

On the other hand, BJP has rejected these allegations of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti. BJP says that without knowing the facts, there was an attempt to spread lies. However, after Farooq Abdullah disagrees with Mehbooba Mufti’s statement, in a way, BJP can only benefit. Questions have also been raised about whether the friendship between the PDP and the National Conference is now falling apart?
