Maharashtra Government On Muslim Community: The Maharashtra government has taken an important decision for the social, economic and educational upliftment of the Muslim community in the state. For this, an institution has been specially entrusted with its responsibility to find out the real status of the Muslim community in the state. The Maharashtra government has appointed Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and entrusted it with the task of taking stock of the economic and educational status of the Muslim community.

The Maharashtra government has issued an order to submit a new report on the basis of the report of the committee headed by Mahmud-ur-Rehman appointed in the year 2013. The Muslim community has expressed happiness over this move of the government. He hopes that the government will soon implement many welfare schemes for the Muslims of the state, so that more and more people of the Muslim community can go ahead and contribute to the progress of Maharashtra and the country.

Government made provision for the budget

In fact, this institution has been appointed by the state government to submit a report on the efforts made for the Muslim community and to oversee the development of the state. Not only this, the government has also made a budget provision of Rs 33 lakh for this. The Mahmud-ur-Rahman Committee submitted its report to the then CM Prithviraj Chavan in 2013. The seven-member committee, headed by retired IAS officer Mahmood-ur-Rehman, included retired IAS, IPS officers, as well as professors from institutions such as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). It was appointed by former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Muslim community welcomed

Muslims have the second largest population in Maharashtra after Hindus. About 12 percent are Muslims (more than one crore 30 lakh). of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde The government (Eknath Shinde) is working on several schemes for the upliftment of the second largest population in the state. Before implementing any scheme, the government is collecting information and data related to it. So that if any scheme is implemented, its benefits can be easily reached to all the people.
