Pratapgarh Pocso Court Pronounced Life Term To A Rape Convict Ann

UP News: The POCSO court in Pratapgarh, while hearing within 10 days, sentenced the accused of rape to remain in jail till his last breath. Special prosecutor Devesh Chandra Tripathi said that on the evening of August 12, a six-year-old girl had come to her maternal grandmother’s house along with her mother and two brothers. The girl was going towards the farm with her two younger siblings, when the accused Bhupendra Singh (24) picked up the girl in her lap and took her towards the field and raped her.

Younger siblings gave information to relatives

Her younger sister and brother informed the family members about taking the girl to the field. After which the family members reached the farm where they found him covered in blood. The accused was caught red handed and handed over to the police. Police registered a case on Tahrir and started investigation. The police had filed the charge sheet in the court on September 11 and the statements of the witnesses in the case continued to be recorded and in these 10 days, 10 people including the defense witnesses testified. After the testimony, the POCSO court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment.

Mother gave this argument to save the accused son

The accused person is a resident of Kirawan village of Prayagraj. The court has also imposed a fine of 20 thousand on the accused. The accused is 24 years old but his mother had produced forged school documents to prove him as a minor so that the matter goes to the juvenile court. After this, three witnesses including the education department of Prayagraj were summoned on the same day. During the hearing, the three witnesses, including the headmaster and representative of BCA, called the document fake. After this the escape routes of the accused were closed. Along with this, the court has ordered the UP DGP to take punitive action against the investigating officer, Nagar Kotwal Satyendra Singh for negligence and inform the court within two months.
