Conference of Environment Ministers: Prime minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) addressed the National Conference of Environment Ministers of all the states in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. PM Modi participated in this program through video conferencing. During this, the PM said that today India is moving forward with a new thinking and a new approach. India is also a fast growing economy and our ecology is also strengthening. Next 25 years are very important for India.

PM Modi said that due to our track record of fulfilling our commitments, the world is also connecting with India today. Gir lions, tigers, elephants, one-horned rhinos and leopards have increased in numbers over the years. A new enthusiasm has returned from the homecoming of Cheetah in Madhya Pradesh a few days ago.

The role of the environment ministry is huge: PM
In the National Conference of Environment Ministers, the PM said that India has set a target of net zero by the year 2070. Now the focus of the country is on green growth, on green jobs and for achieving all these goals, the role of environment ministry of every state is very big. I would urge all environment ministers to promote circular economy in the states as much as possible. This will also give strength to our campaign of solid waste management and freedom from single use plastic.

PM Modi further said that, nowadays we see that in the states where there was abundance of water, the ground water used to remain above, there is a shortage of water today. This challenge is not only of the water related department, but the environment department will also have to consider it as an equally big challenge.
