Sonia Priyanka Gandhi To Participate In Bharat Jodo Yatra In Karnataka Keeping An Eye On Assembly Elections

Sonia- Priyanka to Join Bharat Jodo Yatra: The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of the Congress will reach Karnataka on 30 September. In the state, the party will achieve two goals simultaneously with its padyatra and preparations have started for it. Actually, it seems so from the statement of the Congress President of the state.

According to PTI, DK Shivakumar has informed that party’s interim president Sonia Gandhi and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will join the padyatra during the Karnataka phase of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. DK Shivakumar gave this information after the review meeting of Karnataka Congress regarding Bharat Jodo Yatra on Friday.

Elections to the 224-member Karnataka Assembly are to be held on or before May next year. At the same time, the Lok Sabha elections will be held in its next year i.e. 2024. That’s why Karnataka is important for the Congress. There is a BJP government in the state. It will be the effort of the Congress that along with the Lok Sabha elections, the ground should be prepared for the assembly elections of the state through Bharat Jodi Yatra.

What did DK Shivakumar say

DK Shivakumar has said that the date of joining the yatra is yet to be announced by Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. He said that the date will be told later. Apart from state Congress president DK Shivakumar, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal and other general secretaries, Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Surjewala and several leaders attended the review meeting of the yatra. Venugopal said, “Congress President Sonia Gandhi may join the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka someday and Priyanka Gandhi will also join separately.”

Basavaraj Bommai government targeted

Attacking the Basavaraj Bommai government of Karnataka and the RSS, Venugopal said, “For the last ten years, the BJP and the Sangh Parivar have one task – to malign Rahul Gandhi’s image but now people are understanding who Rahul Gandhi is. This visit will prove to be a turning point in Indian politics.

He said that PCM is not a campaign started by the Congress party. The party is working only on the real issues of the people. He said that everyone is calling the present government of the state the most corrupt.

Surjewala made a scathing remark, saying, “Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is the owner of the most corrupt government in the entire country.”
