Tripura Karbook Constituency BJP MLA Burba Mohan Resigns From The Party

BJP MLA Burba Mohan: BJP has suffered a major setback in Tripura. Barba Mohan Tripura, the MLA of the Karbuk Constitueancy of the state, has resigned from the party. There is speculation that he may join the Tipra Motha party. Barba Mohan Tripura has resigned from the membership of the Legislative Assembly on Friday i.e. today.

Tripura MLA from Karbuk in Gomti district has cited “personal reasons” in his resignation letter to quit the assembly membership. Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty has told that BJP MLA from Kabuk assembly constituency met me and submitted his resignation citing personal reasons. He was accompanied by Tipra Motha President Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma.

Resignation accepted, subscribed

The Speaker said that the resignation has been accepted as he has followed the procedure. He said, “Tripura is not a member of the Legislative Assembly from today.” After this resignation, the strength of the 60-member assembly has now come down to 58, as IPFT MLA Brishketu Debbarma was already disqualified for the membership of the House.

Barba wants to work for the interests of Tiparasa

Tipra Motha chief said, “Burba Mohan Tripura has resigned as MLA (MLA) and member of BJP. He does not want to be associated with any national political party. He wants to work for the interests of Tiparasa, the native tribe of Tripura.” Even after this resignation, the Manik Saha-led government has a clear majority in the assembly. BJP has 35 MLAs while its ally IPFT has 7 MLAs. The opposition Marxist Communist Party has 17 MLAs and the Congress has one MLA.
