Fund Transfer From Foreign For PFI Through NRI Account In India


Popular Front of India: National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) have taken action across the country against the officials associated with Popular Front of India (PFI) regarding Terror Funding. Further investigation by the ED has revealed that some members of the PFI residing abroad sent funds to Non-Resident Indians (NRI) accounts in India, which were later transferred to the radical Islamist organisation.

It is being told that its purpose was to avoid the law related to foreign funding. A day earlier, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids across the country against the PFI and arrested four of its members. The ED alleged that the PFI collected funds abroad and sent them to India.

Funds hidden in government agencies

The ED also said that the funds were also sent through the accounts of members, activists or office bearers of PFI/CFI and other related organisations. The agency said that the funds received from abroad were hidden from government agencies and the rules were not followed by the PFI in raising such funds and donations as it is not registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

PFI in the grip of NIA-ED

Let us tell you that the country’s largest counter terrorist agency National Investigation Agency (NIA) had conducted the biggest search operation till the midnight of 22 September, which was against the Popular Front of India i.e. PFI. This raid was killed in all the states of the country. NIA has recovered huge cash, digital devices, objectionable documents and sharp weapons in this anti-terror search operation.
